About Mt. Warner Vernal Pools with Adventure East

Rising spring temperatures and thawing rains are signals to dormant life to awaken. Waters from the winter melt and spring rain congregate in low areas known as vernal pools and provide an important habitat for local wildlife to breed and thrive at this crucial time of year. Join a our Senior Naturalist William Randolph on a 2-hour walk in the woods as we explore the vernal pools of Mt. Warner. Learn about this unique habitat and how salamanders, fairy shrimp, and wood frogs have adapted to survive from one season to the next. .

  • Waterproof boots/Shoes that might get wet
  • Layers appropriate for the temperatures
  • Plenty of drinking water
  • Hiking Footwear, trails may be wet and muddy

*This is an easy walk on a wooded trail with some rocky sections. There are some uphill and downhill stretches on the trail.
