About Family Cow Connection at Appleton Farms
Immerse your family in the heartwarming experience of being up close and personal with one of our favorite farm animals – cows! Cuddle, brush, and sit with our hand-raised cows at Appleton Farms. Visit our scenic and historic farm and enjoy Family Cow Connection session with our two Jersey Dairy Cows, Gray and Jasmine. This class is designed for young children alongside their parents to get up close and personal with our friendly cattle in their paddock or pasture guided by an Appleton Livestock Farmer. Come learn all about cattle and how we raise livestock for food at Appleton Farms.
Not only do you and your family get to enjoy the attention and love from our cattle, but Gray and Jasmine also benefit from the love and affection you provide. This will help in their training, handling, and temperament, making them amazing educational cows for all of our programming. The capacity of this class is small making this a unique and intimate experience.

Cow Connection will still take place on rainy days, but will be cancelled in heavy rain and thunder and lightning. You will be notified in advance via email in case of weather cancelation.

Tickets required for all adults and children ages 3 and up.
Children aged 2 and under are free but ONLY ALLOWED IN A CHILD CARRIER ATTACHED TO A PARENT.

This class takes place in the cows’ environment. Please wear boots or sneakers. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Program Refunds/Cancellations: In the event that a program is cancelled due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and issue you a full refund within 14 days of the cancellation. If you cannot attend a program as planned, contact appletonfarms@thetrustees.org at least 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund or transfer to another date/class. Refunds and/or class transfers will not be granted for registration cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program. There are no refunds for missed classes. Appleton Farms reserves the right to change program locations, schedules, or instructors when necessary.
- Where to park: When you arrive at the farm, go right at the fork at the Welcome House (towards Farmhouse, Education Farmyard, Camp & Offices) and park in the lot next to the white Farmhouse / Farm Offices. Overflow parking is located along the drive leading up to the farmhouse between the trees before you cross the 4-way bridge intersection. Please be mindful of roped off areas and no-parking signs. The group will meet on the front porch at the Carriage barn across the stone paddock.
