About Family Farm Chores at Appleton Farms

Every day has a full list of barnyard chores we need to accomplish to make sure our farmyard friends are happy and healthy. Let’s get to work!

Join us for our special, hands-on Family Farm Chores program. Get on your muck boots – your whole family will get to be farmers together! Help care for our rabbits, goats, cows and their calves and our flock of chickens and ducks. Muck and bed the stalls, feed animals, collect egg & wash eggs, scrub buckets, fill hay managers, restock hay from the hayloft, collect shavings from the shed, tend to our garden beds, help with our production livestock animals and more.

This is an immersive, hands-on experience best suited for families—adults and children alike will get to try their hand at a variety of tasks. There are always chores to be done on the farm! Program activities can change depending on the work- load, weather, animals moods or group size. This program is always a new experience. Be sure to wear sneakers or other closed-toe shoes when you join us in the barnyard and to dress for the weather.

We do chores rain or shine! This program is only canceled in extreme weather situations, you will receive notification via email if the program is canceled.

Family Farm Chores is best suited for children alongside their adults ages 3 and up who don’t mind getting dirty, and want to work in and learn about the barn.

Tickets must be purchased by both children & adults.

*Younger friends may be more suited for our Befriend the Barnyard program*

We will meet at the Carriage Barn, following signs from the Farms Offices parking lot, park at farm house lot and walk to carriage barn.
