Putting the Garden to Bed: Mulch and Garlic Planting Workshop at The Joe Ciampa Community Garden

Want to set yourself up for a great gardening season next year? Learn simple steps you can take this fall to build healthier soil and reduce diseases and pests next season. We’ll cover which garden debris to clean up and what to leave, how to test and amend your soil, and how to use mulch or cover crops to protect and enrich your soil.

Fall is also the best time to plant garlic, which overwinters and is one of the first plants to sprout in the spring! We will disucss techniques for planting garlic and demonstrate how to do so.
