Learn, play, and make friends outdoors on our historic farm.
Let’s get outside and learn! Appleton Farms Afternoon Adventures offers a chance for kids to explore, learn, and play in the fields, garden, barnyard, and forest. This school year, Appleton Farms is hosting three afternoon drop-off program series for elementary youth in our community. Each series is offered once a week in the afternoon.
Afternoon Adventures offers elementary-aged students the opportunity to engage in environmentally focused activities that inspire them to explore nature, make friends, move and learn. Students explore sustainability, agroecology, life cycles, soil science, energy, and food systems – making important connections to their ongoing STEAM learning. Each session invites students to learn & discover about a new topic and to explore that topic out on the farm’s forests, fields, croplands, and wetlands.
This is an educational afternoon drop-off program for children ages 5-11, offered once a week as a five week series. To keep groups and staff and safe as possible, families must register for a full series of programming. Groups will include up to ten students with one educator and one assistant, and will remain with the same students for the entire series. Please note that the Wednesday group may host up to fifteen students with one educator and one or two assistants.
