About CraneOutdoors: Fascinating Fungi Dune Hike

Mushrooms and lichen abounding! The Crane Estate is a haven for a large diversity of fungi, from the dunes to the maritime forest to the interdunal swales. Join this guided hike, led by local expert Jana Harris from Essex Forays, to learn about these fantastic fungi, how to identify them, and the important role they play in our coastal ecosystems.

This educational hike is geared towards adults. Youth are welcome as long as they can participate in a respectful and non-disruptive way, thus adult supervision is required and adult discretion in youth’s ability to participate is advised.
