About Theater on Castle Hill: Macbeth presented by Theater in the Open and Firehouse Center for the Arts

Theater in the Open invites you to “Come & experience a drum-beating, hair-raising, blood-pumping, two-faced production of William Shakespeare’s Tragedie of Macbeth. This Fall we will bring our ensemble together to create our Macbeth in five days, using a “quick-raise” rehearsal process which combines original Elizabethan theatrical practices with modern ensemble-building techniques. These performances will be bare-bones, essential, utilizing a bare stage or found space, a few scraps of fabric, a drum, the voices & bodies of the actors, and the crucial ingredient of 400-year-old words that still fire the imagination.”

As a professional company whose roots began with outdoor theater, each work TITO creates is a careful consideration of story and space. The Trustees committment to opening special places for recreational and cultural use means collaboration between TITO and the Trustees is a perfect marriage of place and story. This performance is designed to use both indoor and outdoor spaces in Castle Hill’s Barn Complex and Tower Garden, creating a powerful and immersive experience for the audience.
