Summer arrives with the summer solstice which marks the longest day of the year and the day when the midday sun reaches its highest point in the sky. The summer solstice occurs this year on Wednesday, June 21st, but we’ll celebrate three days early with a nature walk through beautiful Mary Cummings Park in Burlington to enjoy the beauty of the natural world.
The walk will focus on plant ID as well as fun and interesting natural history about past and present human uses, and tales and legends about the plants we see. We’ll also celebrate the season with a little poetry and solstice lore. Children ages 10 and up are welcome to register if accompanied by a registered adult.
Pre-registration is required. Refunds must be requested within 7 days of the event.
