
Explore the saltmarsh and coastal ponds of Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge with a natural history and engagement ranger in this guided discovery kayak tour. Learn about the flora and fauna that call Chappy home from a new vantage point! Participants will paddle through Poucha Pond, under the Dike Bridge, up the Narrows, and into Cape Poge Bay.
Please note: Participants must have experience kayaking, as this is not an introductory course.
You will get wet! Please bring: sun block, bug spray, water bottle, snack, water resistant clothing, towel.
Weather permitting; participants will be notified of cancellation on the day of the event. Appropriate for ages 8+. Children 15 and under must paddle with an adult.
The Trustees can provide transportation from the Chappaquiddick side of the Chappy ferry at 8:30 AM, and can drop participants after the tour finishes. Look for The Trustees white van! Tour begins promptly at 9 AM. If a van ride is not needed from the Chappy ferry, please meet at the Dike Bridge Gatehouse by 9 AM.
