About Cancelled – Plein Air Painting Workshop at Weir River Farm

Join us at beautiful Weir River Farm for a Plein Air painting workshop led by award-winning artist Robert G. Beaulieu. During this workshop, we’ll use acrylics to paint the beautiful view from the top of the hill at Weir River Farm. With stunning views of the foliage from the farm to Hingham Harbor on one side, and the Boston skyline on the other, we’ll paint the landscape just before sunset as everything is bathed in the beautiful golden light of the lowering sun.

This workshop will introduce the working methods of painting outside, en plein air, in the landscape using acrylic paint. Artists will learn about the equipment such as easels, palettes, and other helpful tools to support their artmaking outside in a comfortable manner, in addition to artistic techniques to aid in the process of painting outside. Artists will leave with their beautiful plein air masterpiece at the end of the workshop.

This course is open to artists of all experience levels. All supplies will be provided but participants are welcome to bring their own.

Robert G. Beaulieu, a Scituate MA resident, graduated from the Paier School of Art in Hamden, CT and continued his education at the Museum School of Fine arts in Boston. Majoring in illustration, he turned his career toward design and advertising and was president/owner of his own agency in Boston for a number of years until “semi-retiring” to devote more time do his painting. Primarily a Plein Aire painting, Robert has combined his ability to capture detail, atmosphere and light with the disciplines he learned through his foundation of academic work.

Robert has participated in a number of shows throughout New England, and locally with the Scituate Art Association. He does a number of demos a year and teaches courses en Plein Air with the South Shore Art Center (Cohasset) and Scituate Arts Association, of which he is President emeritus.

In the event of rain, this class will be held on the Studio building patio of Weir River Farm.
