About Castle Hill Butterfly Encounter

Imagine talking to a butterfly… what would you ask? What stories could they tell?

Come to the Butterfly Encounter in the gardens at Castle Hill and you will hear directly from a giant monarch butterfly puppet, who will recount the adventures growing up in the milkweed patch, metamorphosis and then the amazing journey across continents. This interactive program can introduce young children to the wonder of garden animals, help older children and adults understand the place pollinators have in the wider eco-system, and open the hearts of everyone to this migrating garden helper.

This 45-minute program takes place in the beautiful Rose or Italian Garden adjacent to the Great House. Location will be determined by accessibility needs. There are several uneven steps into the Rose Garden and two small, stable steps into the Italian Garden. Please inform us if these will be an obstacle for you, and we will make accomodations.
