About Family Farm Chores at Appleton Farms

Discover our special barnyard animals! Our Angora rabbits Violet and Vanilla, Nubian goats Merlin, Maeve, Morgana, and Mordred, dairy cows Gray and Jasmine, and our friendly flock of heritage chickens will take center stage as we learn about what makes them so unique.

Befriend the Barnyard is a hands-on barnyard experience that allows you and your family to approach our barnyard buddies under the guidance of a professional farm-based educator. Join us for a new activity every half-hour. Activities might include:

  • Feeding the Angora rabbits and carding or spinning wool
  • Collecting eggs from the chicken coop
  • Brushing the goats in their pasture
  • Observing the the cows in their pasture

This program is best suited for families with young children. Be sure to wear sneakers or other closed-toe shoes when you join us in the barnyard!
