Bartholomew's Cobble wildflowers

About Wildflower Walks

Come to the Cobble this spring for self-guided tours of our Ledges Trail to learn about our amazing wildflowers. Sheffield is a global hotspot for rare species and Bartholomew’s Cobble puts on one of the best shows of spring ephemerals from mid-April to mid-May. Participants will receive an email before their visit with information to learn the different flowers that are blooming, the insects that pollinate them and what makes them so unique. Spring wildflowers are extremely unique and have extremely short bloom times. Because of this, flowers that will be blooming at the beginning of the festival may not be in bloom by the end, and visitor’s are encouraged to visit the Cobble multiple times to see as much as possible.

Wildflower identification sheets along with fun games for the kids and and interpretive tour of the Ledges Trail will be a emailed to you a few days before your visit. Remember- this is a self-guided activity! If you are looking for a guided tour of the spring ephemerals check out our Guided Tours!

This is a family friendly event, but please no dogs! Dress in appropriate hiking gear and make sure to check the weather before you head out. Tickets can be used any day during the week.

The visitors’ center and restrooms will be open limited hours, Please plan accordingly! (check the Bartholomew’s Cobble home page for more info on our current hours).
