About Kids in the Garden: Worms and Decomposition

What happens to plants during the Fall? Join us to learn all about the changes a garden can go through when the weather begins to cool, and how worms play an important role in the transition. We’ll all become ecologists as we create a mini-ecosystem for our garden worms inside a compost bin. Kids take a hands-on approach to learning about how worms can break down plant material, and how they can create a worm composting bin at home!

The Trustees’ Mobile Adventurer will also be featured at this workshop!

If you’re able, please consider supporting our gardens and educational efforts through the optional program fee.

The Savin-Maywood Community Garden is located at 54 Savin St, Roxbury. Limited street parking is available. The garden is also accessible by Blue Hill Ave and Warren St. bus stops, and the Uphams Corner station.
