Kids in the Garden: Traveling Seeds
Nightingale Community Garden
Dorchester Center, 02124

Thursday, September 8, 2022
Have you ever wondered how plants in the wild choose the places they grow? It starts with their seeds! Gather in the garden to learn how seeds travel around their environment. We’ll explore different types of seeds and use our observations to discover how they get from place to place. Kids then conduct their own experiments to see if their hypotheses are correct! Afterwards, we’ll go on a scavenger hunt through the garden to find seeds to take home and plant next spring.
The Trustees’ Mobile Adventurer will not be available for this workshop.
If you’re able, please consider supporting our gardens and educational efforts through the optional program fee.
Nightingale Community Garden is located at 512 Park Street in Dorchester. The garden and this program are wheelchair accessible and the garden is close to Washington Street buses. Some free parking is available on the street or in the back of the CVS parking lot across the street.
