
deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum is pleased to announce the 2022 Summer Performance Series that invites viewers to explore ideas of kinship, connection and ancestry through the performing arts. These themes are also explored by exhibiting visual artists in The New England Triennial and Melvin Edwards: Brighter Days. Each event this summer offers different experiences of cultures, traditions, and familial connections.

About the Performance:
Guerilla opera presents a musical reading of a world premier opera by Emily Koh.
HER:alive|un|dead is a concert-length multimedia surrealist opera written following three generations of Asian women in a single family. Through birth and death cycles in the family and encounters in a space called the “in-between, these women expound on gender biases against women and discriminatory practices against people of Asian descent and explore the clash of Eastern and Western as a result of immigration and generational perspectives.
This opera, produced by Guerilla Opera, is written by Emily Koh, with stage direction by Mo Zhou and performances by:
