About Sensory-Friendly Sunset Picnic

Welcome to the Sensory-Friendly Sunset Picnic at Weir River Farm!

Live music, local food, craft brews, and the South Shore’s best views

This event is intended for families with disabilities, providing a reduced number of guests and quieter sensory friendly environment. Any family that would benefit from a limited capacity visit is welcome.

Come listen live music by Peter Mundt at a decreased volume while enjoying food from Wanderlust Food Truck and sipping a a cold beer from Barrel House Z. Pack your picnic blanket and chairs and relax with your friends and family while watching the sun set over the Boston skyline. Greet our iconic Belted Galloway cows as they graze in their pasture. And don’t forget to shop our farm store filled with delicious locally-sourced picnic supplies as well as Trustees-grown meat, dairy and beautiful produce.

Special sensory kits, including noise-reducing headphones and visual story guides, are available to borrow at admissions. Please note that we have a limited number of sensory kits and headphones available and strongly encourage participants to bring anything they expect to need.

Please contact South Shore Engagement Manager, Elyssa Scheck, at weirriver@thetrustees.org, with any questions or special requests.

In the event of cancellation due to rain, you will be notified via the email address you used to register and refunded in full within 14 business days.

We love our furry friends, however, as this is a working farm with live animals, dogs are not permitted on the property.
