A safe, creative, outdoor clay art project event that makes serving candy and other snacks even more festive, unique and fun! Build, message, texture and decorate with bright colors clay candy dishes and scoops modelled from soft clay slabs. Your dishes and scoops will be glazed, fired and ready for use in your home or office by the following weekend. This workshop is suit-able for individuals, adults in groups, and for families with children. Come and enjoy the clay fun.
All levels welcome. Ticket holders ages 5-15 must be accompanied by at least one registered adult. This is strictly enforced.
Instruction, tools, materials, seating and work surfaces for building and decorating up to 2 clay candy dishes with an accompanying candy scoop will be provided during this 1.5 hour outdoor family-styled workshop.
Proceed to park in deCordova’s main parking lot. Workshop will be held in a gated area adja-cent to the Ceramics Sculpture Studio, located in the complex of brown bulidings across from the main parking lot also known as “Lincoln Nursery School.” All persons within the gated workshop area must be registered for the workshop.
A disinfecting station will be available, bringing your own hand disinfectant is also encouraged. Courtyard public restrooms will be available for use, and are disinfected by Park staff regularly. Social distancing and/or mask-wearing are. recommended in the vicinity of the workshop.
Work will be glazed, fired and ready for pick up the following weekend, or by appointment after then. An email address will be requested for coordinating your project pick-up.
Please note: Although clay won’t permanently stain garments, participants are advised to wear suitable work garments while working with clay and glazes.
In instances of inclement weather, participants will be notified via email 48 hours in advance of cancellation or postponement of the event. The following day, Sunday, same time of day and location, will be considered viable for postponement.
