About STEAM at World’s End

Looking for some outdoor enrichment time? STEAM at World’s End may be the outing that meets your needs this spring. Recommended for learners and adventurers ages 6-10, each interactive, hands-on session lasts 90 minutes and occurs outside at World’s End on Wednesday afternoons. Group sizes are limited to 12 (including adults). This is not a drop-off program. A minimum of one adult guardian per group of five children is required. Adherence to COVID-19 regulations is required. Register for up to four differently themed sessions.

Explore Like a Scientist at World’s End

April 21, May 19

Become familiar with the tools a scientist may use while exploring and discovering the geology of World’s End. How did World’s End form? What do you notice about the rocks you find and the soil beneath your feet? Participants will practice close observation, ask questions, determine how to find answers, collect and interpret data.

Animal Diversity at World’s End

April 28, May 26,

Invertebrates, birds, mammals and more can be found at World’s End. Determine the characteristics of animal groups and seek them out during your visit. Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars if they have them. Covid restrictions prevent the sharing of our binoculars.

Plant Diversity at World’s End

May 5, June 2

Where better to investigate plant diversity than World’s End? Determine the characteristics of plant groups and seek them out during your visit.

Seeing Art in Nature and Nature in Art

May 12, June 9

Patterns, textures, colors, shapes. Art can be found in nature and participants are encouraged to use their observation skills to find something in nature to draw in great detail. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to create art using only materials from the natural world.

Parking reservation is included with registration. In the event of particularly inclement weather, you will be notified of rescheduling or cancelling via the email provided when registering. Updates will also be posted on World’s End social media.
