About Clay Garden Signs Workshop at deCordova

This workshop is suitable for ages 5 and up, children ages 5-15 must be accompanied by at least one registered adult in their group.

Build, carve and decorate with ceramic colors fun clay signs for around your garden this spring! Creations will be fired and ready for signs in your garden before the snow melts! Attend with a friend or family, great parent/ child project! Hot cocoa and cider will be served to accompany this festive, all levels workshop.

All levels welcome.

Instruction, tools, materials, seating and work surfaces for building and decorating up to 3 Clay Garden Signs (2.5 x 7 inches) will be provided during this 1.5 hour outdoor family-styled workshop.

Hot cocoa and hot cider will be available, served by staff.

Workshop will be held in a gated area adjacent to the Ceramics Sculpture Studio, located in the complex of brown bulidings across from the main parking lot also known as “Lincoln Nursery School.” All persons within the gated workshop area must be registered for the workshop.

A disinfecting station will be available, Bringing your own hand disinfectant is also encouraged. Courtyard public restrooms will be available for use, and are disinfected by Park staff regularly. Social distancing and proper mask-wearing must be followed at all times in the vicinity of the workshop.

Work will be fired and ready for pick up on the following weekend, or by appointment after then. An email address will be requested for coordinating pick up.

Please note: Although clay won’t permanently stain garments, participants are advised to wear suitable work garments while working with clay and glazes.

In instances of inclement weather, participants will be notified via email 48 hours in advance of cancellation or postponement of the event. The following day, Sunday, same time of day and location, will be considered viable for postponement.
