Are you interested in painting with watercolor? This course will introduce various professional watercolor techniques for the beginner or amateur. We will learn the basics together, (synchronously) and individually, (asynchronously) with Zoom based “art round-table” discussions and home based, lessons and practice sessions where you can paint with inspired abandon! We will learn about the principles of compositional design through study, practice and conversation. Lessons will explore line, shape, texture, value, color, space, balance, emphasis, rhythm, scale and proportion. We will learn and practice painting techniques including transparencies, bleeds, dropping color, wet on wet, drybrush and lifting. Our home based exercises will be punctuated with hearty conversation and critique to expand our appreciation of fine art watercolor and our own compositions.
Class will meet together twice weekly for one-hour sessions for four weeks. A total of 8 Zoom gatherings. Homework assignments will be practiced in between our class sessions.
Mondays and Thursdays, October 19th-November 12th | 7-8pm
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. A recommended materials list will be provided prior to the start of the series.Register
