Carnival of the Animals: Atlantic Symphony Orchest...

Carnival of the Animals

About Carnival of the Animals: Atlantic Symphony Orchestra visits Weir River Farm

Join members of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra as they head to Weir River Farm in Hingham for a fun, interactive concert featuring excerpts from Carnival of the Animals by composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Enjoy this family-friendly, outdoor concert while learning about instruments from the orchestra – including the harp, cello, flute, and more!

Don’t miss your chance to see these and other instruments up close at our Instrument Petting Zoo, with instructors from South Shore Conservatory.

And, of course, no visit to the farm is complete without time in the barnyard. Meet the flocks of sheep, goats, and chickens, see Radish and Turnip, the giant Flemish rabbits, and say hello to the friendly piglets Primrose and Petunia.

No seating will be provided. Please bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on.

A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, 2PM. If poor weather requires us to reschedule, all ticket holders will be informed by noon on June 8 by email to the address provided at registration.

Card to Culture and children 2 and under are free. In the event of cancellation due to severe weather, you will be notified via the email address you used to register and refunded in full within 14 business days. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

We love our furry friends, however, as this is a working farm with animals, dogs are not permitted on the property.

Where do we park?
Parking is on-site, in the Weir River Farm parking lot located at 140 Turkey Hill Lane.

Is this venue accessible?
The picnic lawn is a flat, grassy field, accessible for most strollers and wheelchairs. There is an accessible bathroom. The barnyard, down the hill, is also accessible with limited accessible parking next to the animal enclosures. Ask a Trustees staff member for directions.

Where do we sit?
There are a limited number of picnic tables available. Consider bringing your own chairs and picnic blankets.

May I bring my own food or drink?
Guests may bring their own snacks and picnic if they wish. Please note that our Farm Store is no longer active. To protect our environment, please consider bringing reusable plates and containers and bringing your recyclables home.

Will restrooms be available for guests?

Are dogs allowed?
Because this is a working farm, no dogs allowed, please. We hope to see your furry friends at one of our other Trustees properties this summer!

Is the barnyard open during the event?
The barnyard will be open after the concert. Anyone who wants to visit with the animals will walk down the hill along a grassy path we call “the chute.” Limited accessible parking is available at the bottom. Please ask a Trustees staff member for directions.
