Create and experience wellness for you and your loved ones through a practical blend of Ayurvedic (traditional Hindu system of medicine) and Functional (identifying root cause medicine) cooking practices.
Each class will highlight approximately a half dozen healthy in-season ingredients (protein, vegetable, herb, fat, fruit, fiber) complemented by the common items stocked in a kitchen. We will focus on seasonal and locally-selected sourced ingredients to prepare and create a variety of healthful, vitality-promoting, and anti-inflammatory dishes that are simple and easy to recreate over and over at home.
We’re offering a three-part series of this class for January, but classes can be taken individually or as a series. Attending the full series will afford you the opportunity to review updates on your progress, and allow for additional follow-up questions to be addressed. However, classes can also be taken individually, and you must register for all classes separately.
About Your Instructor
Kate Gilmore is an Integrative Nutrition and Ayurvedic practitioner (through her company Bluewater Kitchen). These practices prescribe food as medicine – along with specific preparation techniques for optimal body absorption, nutrition and function. Kate attended the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City under Nick Malgieri. She has enjoyed working in kitchens in Boston, Washington DC, New York City, and Cape Cod. In addition, she has managed (and cooked) at bakeries in SoHo, NYC and Chatham, Massachusetts. However, it is in home cooking where she has thrived. Kate has been married to a 35-year vegetarian, has an anaphylactic severe food allergies son, and all four in the family are accomplished lifelong athletes requiring targeted nutrition. This combination requires thoughtful attention to detail for each and every meal. This daily challenge has become a joy to navigate and is where she has developed as an inventor, creator, and health champion.
