Join us to welcome and celebrate the arrival of our two new dairy calves, Gigi & Joanie!
We will start the celebration with cow story time, followed by a hands-on butter making activity, a milking demonstration, and of course a meet and greet with the cows before you leave!
This is a group experience and a timed ticketed event, and will start exactly on the hour. We will meet in the Stone Paddock adjacent to the Carriage Barn. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.
After spending time with the cows be sure to get a delicious cheesy pizza at the Farmhouse Lawn.
About the Cows:
Gray and Jasmine, the last remaining Jersey dairy cows at Appeton Farms, each had a beautiful calf doubling our education herd. We are excited about this event as it continues the long rich tradition of raising Jersey Dairy cows at Appleton Farms. One of the Appleton’s cows even won a blue ribbon in the 1893 Chicago World Fair! We hope to keep this legacy of Appleton Jerseys alive and continue to teach and educate the public about dairy cattle and dairy operations.
Gigi, born 6/22/23 and Joanie, born 6/30/23 are Jersey Belted Galloway cross calves.
