Join us at Mytoi garden for a hands-on workshop learning about the meditative art of bonsai pruning. Bonsai, lit. translated from Japanese as “planted in a container,” describes a small tree or shrub that has been carefully shaped to encourage limited growth. In this class, Oliver Valdez, Trustees Island Steward, will guide you in the mindful curation of your first bonsai. This is an introductory class; no gardening or bonsai experience is necessary.
Materials (bonsai tree, pruning snips, etc) and cost of admission to the garden are included in the cost of program. Questions? Email cdrogin@thetrustees.org. Photo credit: Oliver Valdes
