About Locally Grown & Delicious with Casey Mazar-Kelly
Join Casey Mazar-Kelly in this monthly class on how to make comforting, delicious, and healthy local meals from scratch! Every month we will base our recipes on what’s growing in our Friendship Garden and what is available at other island farms. Classes are hands-on and participants will prepare a meal together that will then be shared around the table at the end of the class.
About Casey Mazar-Kelly
Casey is a farmer on Martha’s Vineyard who loves to eat and share good meals. Through the process of growing food Casey cultivated a desire to highlight the benefits of farm fresh food by creating meals highlighting the natural flavors, specifically working with seasonal, locally grown produce. Casey cares deeply about increasing access in local food and pursued their passions at University where they obtained their dual degree in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems and Ecogastronomy. Since then Casey has worked on and with local farms both on Martha’s Vineyard and beyond. Casey is the co-owner and manager of Fire Cat Farm in Vineyard Haven. Working at the intersection of food and farming, Casey finds fulfillment in connecting people to delicious, well-produced food and contributing to our complex food system.
Pre-registration is required for all Farm Institute cooking classes. Program Refunds/Cancellations: In the event that a program is cancelled due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and issue you a full refund within 14 days of the cancellation. If you cannot attend a program as planned, contact lbrown@thetrustees.org at least 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund or transfer to another date/class. Refunds and/or class transfers will not be granted for registration cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program. There are no refunds for missed classes.
